Need Semi-Wireless network, with Vista.

Ok, I've got a PC, Xbox 360, and a new laptop and no router. I've got enough wire to keep the PC and the 360 on a wired network, but would like wireless for the laptop, without having to buy adapters for the PC or the 360. (Both PC and Laptop are Vista, sadly)

I was wondering if this would do the trick so I can keep 360 and PC wired and have a wireless network in my house for the laptop, and if it would work (reliably) with Vista.

That was just one option, but, I'd like to know what you recommend. I've got cable internet, but don't want to go very expensive, as it's just these 3 things I want hooked up.

Thanks, Rob.

Yep, that would work fine. Im assuming you already have a wired router for your pc/xbox? if so youd just plug the AP into the wired router, configure it with an SSID, WPA key etc, browse networks with your vista laptop and connect to it.

As for working well with Vista, in terms of access points there is no real compatibility scope, the only thing to consider is if your wireless card can support WPA encryption, failing that you would have to use WEP encyrption on the access point, although 99.9% of new wireless cards support it so that shouldnt be an issue :)

this router has one plug wher eu would plug ur cable modem into, and 4 of them when you would plug ur computer and 360 into, leaving 2 more free spaces. so yea, this should work, i would go with netgear or linkysys tho.
