my dad has a home video that he converted from vhs to his camera, then from his camera (which uses smaller tapes) to digital on his computer. he wants one single picture, but he doesnt know how to capture it. hes got ulead something or other and i have nero 7 ultra edition. i need to know how to capture this picture from his home video. any ideas?

If the program you used to capture the video doesn't have such an option, I know Media Player Classic will allow single frame captures...

With a video capture device here the task there is simplified with a picture of a camera pressed to take a snapshot from a vhs or other analog composite source. There are a number of freeware and shareware screen capture programs to tryout by simply running a web search. http://infospace.abcnews.com/_1_OWV...s.toolbar/search/web/screen+capture+freewares

The fun part is going through a good number of them to find the one that will work best. Generally a good player for video files will also include the option to take still frames from either type of source being played. Cyberlink's Powerdvd 6.0 was just ordered from one site for only $9.99! Version 4.0 had been run for about 3-4yrs. without issues. To get the best possible result trying multiple frame and screen capture programs may be needed.

i duno my dad asked me first... i guess he figured it out lol... oh well.
i touched it up for him with adobe photoshop and stuff... looked real nice compared to what it had been.
