Need software that can block certain files from being put on computer off of a disc

Does anyone know of this kind of software? I need to be able to block certain files with certain extensions (.exe, .jpg) from being put on the computer off of a flash drive or any other disc.
I suppose this kind of software exists because I was at the library and whatever software they had on their computers would not allow you to open certain file types off of your own personal disc.
 
Deep freeze or directory services like Active Directory with local policy can stop non approved applications from running.

Though, setting up AD is over kill unless it is for a business.
 
Thank you, appreciate it. I'm not sure those programs will be inexpensive enough for just one personal computer. I wonder if there's any freeware applications?

Not that I am aware of. There are parental control apps out there, but I have no experience with them. I would suggest you Google search parental control applications for Windows and see what you find.
