First off i was wondering if this was even a good buy for the price i paid, also i was wondering what type of power supply i need and how much it will cost, and i need a decent video card for less than 150 bucks, must be agp. I am in canada so new egg unfortunately does not work, mind u i can buy my graphics card off ebay. thanks for all the feedback on what i bout!

First off the prices at those two links are not shown! You will have to post the prices paid for the final bid. When posting a link for something bought on EBay remember the message: "The bidding has closed on this item".

While many have seen good results for average use when going with ECS the top brands like Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI favor much higher. Others like DFI and Abit hear good word in most cases while being somewhat behind the others when looking over specifications and features on their top models. For a supply depending on application(no SLI for instance) the average case will see anywhere from a 450w upto 550w with extra drives and devices. For SLI and OCing along sata arrays and external drives where demand is 550-600+w is the usual.

sorry bought the prices

i paid 122Us for the processor, motherboard and heatsink and then it was like 30 shipping so really 152US

then i paid 69US for the memory plus 11US shipping so it was 80US.

Will the motherboard i have work welll with the memory i got?

That's the fastest the board will run. The specifications on that model board are seen at http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Produc...LanID=9&DetailID=552&DetailName=Specification

A good but not best by any means AGP card is the ATI Radeon 9550 256mb model seen at http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1723243&CatId=0

You could go with an off make X1300 Pro or even the X1650 Pro models. The ATI X1300 Pro is seen for $146.99CA at http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1892411&CatId=0

The HIS X1650 Pro will break the bank at $171.99CA as seen at http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2484234&CatId=0

Hey just thought I would comment on the Video card as I used to own a Geforce Fx5200 128Mb, and yes it sucked, barely played BF2 on low. I am now on a Geforce 6600 256Mb AGP which is good (Med settings) but again if you want full settings I would go for something higher.

The one card that will dust the NVidia 8860 and ATI X1950XTX away may soon be out finally after a few delays. The rumor of the R500 chip being used in the X-Box 360s is floating too. But the cost there will be three times your max when it does come out.

On the last build I ran two FX5200s before moving upto the ATI Radeon 9550 256mb model pointed at earlier. I didn't find links for the X700 Pro or even the favored X850 AGP model.
