Need some help with setup

I just got an Acer P235H I plugged it up and it worked fine but when I restarted my computer the screen changed. Now windows is cut off all along the bottom(like half the start button) and all along the right side(like a half inch). I have my Xbox plugged into the monitor and it is fine the picture is just weird with the computer. I tried adjusting it but that did nothing. Please help!
 
Try reinstalling the video drivers. Were you playing any games that might have changed the screen resolution right before that?
 
I played fallout before I restarted it, and I uped the graphics to 1080p, but everything was still fine until I restarted.
 
Is it an ati card? If so, go into it's settings and turn off underscan (or overscan, don't remember what its called). I this problem with my tv until I did.
 
My video card is an EVGA 9800GTX+ and the problem only happens when the monitor is plugged in with the VGA cable its fine when plugged in the normal way but I can't use the HDMI when it's not in the VGA.
 
So you have onboard video as well as a dedicated card? Or am i misunderstanding you?
