Everything is properly plugged am asuming ?
did you actually boot into windows to see if its detecting in there ?

cause mine is like that...Foxconn 945G7MD-8ks2H, bios fails to detect sata drives (but yes, detects only ide ones).
I would consider bios update or so

Well the usual stuff is done , fixed correctly , removed old ide cables , insert sata . Reboot , does not detect hard disk , the hard disk itself is moving but windows boot cannot find the drive . When i use my old ATA, somehow the SATA drive is hot but unable to detect . Yeah ,but i think you're right i should update my bios , thx for d help

somehow the SATA drive is hot but unable to detect
so there's a problem with the Sata one am assuming, why is it running hot ?
Am pretty sure it's going defective !!

before you do anything else, see if yo can get another pc and try in that.
See if the pc detects your drive.Only then you will know if
a) hard drive problem
b) computer problem

never do a BIOS update until you have tried everything**

oo , hot as in warmish computer heat and not really hot like my graphic card after i play C&C 3 =P . Anywayz i took the hard disk bck to the shop but the tested it using a hard disk scanner ( i dun know wads dat called x.x ) . So it all comes down to updating my motherboard bios? Can i boot from cd instead of floppy to update the bios ?
