Need some help!

Ok, I was partitioning the hard drive on my parents computer with partition magic 8.0, and 33% through the process it fails, can't remember what the error message said (it was about something being too big). Well, no biggy I thought, and pressed the any key to reboot. Now it seems to be stuck in perpetual rebooting mode. It turns on, and as soon as the windows XP logo should come up, it just reboots. I've tried safemode, last known good config, but it results in the same thing, just rebooting before windows even starts loading. When I try the windows recovery tool it gives me a blue screen, telling me to uninstall antivirus programs and to run checkdisk. I can't do either of those cause I can't seem to access anything.

Anyway, I'm thinking I need to take out the hard drive and hook it up to my computer to try and figure out the problem.

Any other ideas?

if the partitioning didnt finish the harddrive is probably in an unpartitioned state. you will probably need to reformat completely. create a boot disk and do it that way, unless someone else has any ideas

Well I'm pretty sure the partitioning hadn't started yet. It said it was 33% done checking the file index or something. The entire progress was still at 0%

If you have another computer put the hdd in as a slave and see if you can access and files. If it says : This drive is not formatted, then all the stuff if probably gone.

Ok, hopefully I can save them. I've never hooked up a hard drive as a slave before. Is there a special way to do it, or do you just plug it in and go?
