Ok this is going to be alot but Im sorry I really need someone professional assitance.
Ok I've gone throught alot of problems lately my last attempt with the Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI, AMD Athlon 3200, 500watt psu, Evga Gefoce 6800Gt, 2 WD HDD, CD/DVD-Burner, CD/DVD-ROM, Koolance watercooling. After moving the CPU FSB to 210 moving it up 10 the computer was on for about 20-25 seconds in windows and there was a loud POOF. Now I went and ordered a new motherboard and now got the MSI NEo4 Platinum SLI. After hooking everything up and turning it on it sometimes run for varies amounts of times then goes off. But the strange thing is the Monitor will never come on the computer wont book. CMOS was cleared but I never got into the BIOS to do anything. Nothing happens except my water cooling turns on, my 2 cd roms turn on, hard drives spin, all 3 of my fans turn on aswell. But it dosen seem to be sending any power to the CPU to turn the computer actually on. I have no way to test the cpu or the graphics card to see if they are still working since I dont have any spare parts with those compatiable ability. Nor do I know any of my friends who has a computer I am able to test my stuff with. But im starten to put something together here which I want to see if anyone thinks this might be what happened. The 4 prong 12v cable coming off the powersupply COULD THIS OF BLOWN. My thought on this is its not sending enough power to the cpu to turn the computer on. IF i just leave the 20 pin cable on the motherboard and take the 4 prong one off the computer will run and run and run. When i hooked the 4 prong cord it will run and stay at varies times could be a few seconds for 10-20mins. But I never think the cpu is getting any real power. The heat monitor on my water cooling dosent show the CPU gaining any real temperature around 24C. I hooked my powersupply up to my old computer but it didn't take the 4 prong cable off the power supply just the 20 prong one and it worked fine. But on my computer that takes the 4 prong one has problems. And also the front lights on the computer case the green power and the reddish hard drives light dosent come on at all! But also the MSI neo4 Platinum SLI has 24 prong connector for the powersupply and mine is only 20 prong but I don't think this would be a problem all the reviews i read said something about the onboard sound might not work right. But can anyone give me any professional thought to this before I go spending aLOT more money. Any more information anyone needs to know to help conclude this please ask I will tell you anything. My powersupply has plunty of v/A for this I think 12v/34A.
