Hey guys!

I've got two questions for you today. One, i'm building my own gaming computer and my motherboard supports DDR3 RAM, im wondering how much RAM i neeed? 2gb, 4gb 6gb, i'm just not sure. I hoping its not that expensive either.

My second question is I want to buy a 22' inch monitor, i'm willing to spend $250 (australian money) on one. I'm wondering what the best quality one is at the moment.

Please any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks

:D

Buy 4GB++ and use 64 bit OS.. For the monitor, get a BenQ 24" LCD E2400HD. It's extremely cheap (less than 250 AUD), supports 1080p, 60mz and HDMI !! just search for it in your local internet shops or something..

It all depends on its dual channel or triple channel.

Well it does and doesn't. If you have triple you could run 4/8GB (8 might be a little overkill :P) in dual channel instead.

That said, my system supports dual channel and I'm running 4GB.

Well you get more bandwidth but there's a big latency hit. It all depends on what you are doing - right now gaming doesn't really care but memory benchmarks can see the added bandwidth.

RAM's not real cheap anymore but at the same time it's not expensive. If you have the budget to spare sure, go for 6GB but there's nothing wrong with just getting 4GB.
