Hey all, need some help. When the PC gets to the loading screen, it reboots. After this, it starts fine. I get the usual message saying windows shutdown unexpectedly, then the solution centre says it’s due to hardware but is unable to tell me which part. I can restart the PC loads of times without the problem occurring again. But as soon as I switch it off and leave it for a while, turn it back on, it reoccurs. I have run diagnostics on CPU, RAM, HDDs, etc, and everything is fine, the PSU is brand new. I have tried more or less everything. I ran Vista Memory diagnostic first 1 stick at a time then both at the same time with no errors. I am really lost on what to do. I know it's to do with hardware but which bit? Here is the error report:

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I have posted a similar post in the Operating Systems forum aswell as I didn't really know where to post this.

When you say "switch off" do you mean like turning the off the computer by pulling the cord, flicking the psu switch, or just pressing the power button until it shutsdown? I would run a virus scan (avast), then look in the device manage for any hardware conflicts or exclamantion points.

When I say switch off I mean Start-Shutdown, I have had a look in the device manager and no exclamation points and everything seems ok. I will try a virus scan though and post back, cheers.

No viruses on it. I have just thought of something, I tried running Atitool on vista and had nothing but problems with it and it would never uninstall properly, I only mention this as I also installed it on my laptop and my laptop has started to display the same message: Windows suffered from an unexpected shutdown, (or something like that) and also says its due to hardware, quite funny how both PCs are doing the same thing after install/uninstalling atitool. Only thing is I have uninstalled it on both PCs also removed what I could find in the registry. Would this have anything to do with it?

When you removed it could have somehow altered the registry. What anti virus did you use? I would recommend Avast (www.avast.com) since its a great program and free. Try reinstalling ATiTool and see what happens. If it works fine then its ATiTool. If problems persist then it is not ATITool.
