Need something new and innovative about computers to talk about....

Hey guys, for my class I need to give an informal presentation on something new or cool about computers such as superscalar systems or RAID memory. Any suggestions, im sort of looking for something that would be easy to research and somewhat easy to understand.

how about computer advancement in general.

its easy to see how computer hardware advancement is getting faster. just 10 years ago we only had 233mhz cpus and 10gb hard drives. now were on the verge of 1tb hard drives and have quad core cpus.

makes me wonder how things will be 10 years from now. maybe computers with 256 or 512gb ram running programs on 32Core 1.2THz CPUs with 60TB Hard Drives :P
 
yea and those old computers cost 2 grand and more, i have an old and i mean old pc repair book and it was saying prices for hd's a 4.5 gb hs in it is like 250 dollars, and they said thats the street price lol
 
Why don't you talk about graphics cards? The graphics industry had been developing in leaps and bounds at the moment, its a really interesting area.
 
Graphic Cards - SLi, Crossfire, Geforce 8...., ATI R6..
CPU - single core, core duo, dual core, core 2 duo, etc.
DVD: Blue way??
HDD. RAID 0/ RAID 1??
Window Vista
Overclocking?
 
quantum computing has yet to be proven....

and distributed computing has been around as long as the internet.

even before seti@home, there was a seti@home screensaver that's been around since 92 or 93
