Need something to compliment an X2 3800+

Hey guys.. I recently ordered an X2 3800, and im lookin for a good board to go with it. Ive been lookin at the MSI K8n Neo4 as it has everything i want (except sataII, but ive heard the platinum version of this board does not utilize the 300mb/sec unless in a raid setup) and it is cheap. my friend has one of these boards and it works like a charm. just wanting to make sure its a good choice before i get it, or if there is something better competitively priced. ill be sticking in a gig of ocz ram from my old comp (refer to sig) and i plan on doubling that sometime in the near future. ill use the comp mainly for gaming and music production. ill be gettin a 7800 more than likely later on (got an X300 to suffice for now) and i wont be wanting an sli setup. any opinions? thanks

P.S. - i plan to overclock it a little bit, using the msi overclock tool in bios. nothing fancy, but just to up the performance a little bit. im not lookin to get into the dfi stuff and really mess around with anything, just a quick little "tune-up". but, overclocking is not necessary, as ill probably be satisfied with it as it is.
also, if it matters, itll be going into this case - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811112040
with a fortron source 500w psu

I'm a big fan of abit, They have a very nice over clocking guru software that comes with it. so it might be worth your wile to look at abit, also Asus is a good company to look at for it.

i will never buy anything asus again, which i guess is unfortunate... but thats a different story. thanks for the help, but i ended up going with the msi

1. You wont be hitting 300 regardless really
2. The Platinum model is an awesome board, ive got a X2-4800 in it and it's lovin it

Generally speaking i love both companies but for K8/K9 setups, neither has really lived up to their previous reputations (i.e, there is no current AMD board that lives up to the reputation of say the P4C800-E or the NF7-S2). Its arguable that their absolute top models do hold a candle to the other boards (K7, P4) but for the price of those top boards you can do better :)
