Need to Boost Network...

Our internet(comcast) comes into the house, and is fed to a Linksys router. I have a Linksys range extender in an outbuilding about 200' from the house. The range extender is fed to a third building(metal) via wired connection approx 300' long. The internet connection at the end of the run iis marginally OK.

I'm wondering if there's anyway to boost it at any point along the line? Could use a little more speed at the end of the run.

Also, not sure if my line supports POE?

The extender is a Linksys WRE54G.

Based on how you described it, it sounds like you would use the POE device at the range extender instead of running cable.

Also, not sure if my line supports POE?

POE depends on the age of your wiring. If it's old it may be a crapchute for POE.

A WIFI wireless link with some professional hardware might work better, but it will be a chore to set up.

Cable is only about 6mos old, and is in PVC conduit, but it sounds like the POE would take the place of the cable?

I ran the cable as the third building is metal, and I was having a tough time receiving anything but a wired signal...
