I'm new to this place and need help in finding the right computer to purchase. The place I work for has a very old computer that we are going to replace. I have a Dell at home which I like but need more for work.
Here is what I need it to do......
The basics, Word, Excel, Quicken, Quickpayroll, Turbo Tax (I have software for these, so dont need to buy)
Get on Internet (naturally)
Of course would like to play music, download to my iPod and phone.
Burn CDs/DVD or copy, also will need a flop disk since older files are on them already. Perfer 2 drives.
Will need capability to load photo software to edit and publish photos and need to be able to create Web pages with my software. Also need a good software to video to web.
Would like to find a combo that comes with a good printer that will scan, print, accept card from digital cameras. I have a old fax machine but if the printer did that too when good.
I dont need great gaming, or TV options but if it comes with it as well, then even better. Also do not wont to build one, just want a HP, Dell, Gateway type but I have been out of the tech world since being laid off 4 years ago from a major computer company.
I work and live in the country so DSL is not an option, only have dial up at this time but rumor is it will be offered sometime. (yea right)
I think this is enough, but as naturally I want it all, good support and affordable.
