Need to improve pc for gaming. Low budget

Hey guys,

What would be the cheapest but most effective hardware for reducing lag while gaming?

I know Ram is cheap and i have 960mb at the moment. Don't know if thats enough or not.

What are your current specs, what is your budget, what games do you want to play, how well do games play at the moment? We need more information! Going to take a guess, the graphics card is probably the first thing you want to look at for gaming...
