Need to wipe out hard drive......New Girlfriend lol

You know what the best remedy for this is? Just DO NOT download porn in the first place!!! Then you don't have to go to all this trouble to try and hide the evidence. Why would you need to look at that stuff, its just wrong man.

lol UkDude, your situation made me laugh a little.

Good luck with the removal of your porn collection etc :). Yes a fresh format will most certainly wipe all of that from your hard disk drive but what people were trying to say is that if she were to use some sort of data recovery tool on your hard drive she could recover all of your files etc. However if she wants you to get rid of it, I highly doubt she's going to go hunting for it now is she. That's why people recommended using erasers etc to write over the data so that it can never be recovered. Although that is a little over the top in this situation.

A format will suffice and unless she's some sort of computer wiz wanting to dig deep into all of your old deleted files from the last install, you'll be fine. :)

No she wont bother with rooting for it in the deleted files etc she just doesnt want it on there............shame really:(

A few ex's have loved it so this is a real shock to the system haha:D
 
Well you could always use some sort of method in the future to keep one particular folder on your PC secure from her eyes completely using methods that many people have suggested here :). If you ever did decide to load back on your collection that is.

Axcrypt is good, too. But it works for individual files.

I would just put my secret stash on a DVD, put it in a slim jewel case and put it on top of my PSU in my computer. I have always wondered why there is a space there, for that purpose, *sarcasm*
 
I can see it now, first she wants you to get rid of your porn and next it will be your dog then your friends and last your freedom..

Alternatively you can copy all your collection to a external HDD and safe keep it before your delete or erase it.
 
Why not just delete it and empty the recycling bin? Is your girlfriend tech-savvy and intrusive enough to look hard enough for it that that wouldn't be enough?
 
yeah, I would have thought highlighting all your porn and pressing shift and delete then enter would be the easiest way, unless you want to keep it of course. ;)
 
I just put them in one folder, used to winzip them with a password. Its free. But now that we've been married over 20yrs, she doesn't care.
