Need Urgent Help regarding my Subwoofer

I have just setup my 5.1 Amplified Speaker system with subwoofer on my Windows XP. 5 Speakers with a subwoofer, but the woofer's bass is too high, and can't hear the actual singing, just the bass. I have lowered the bass on the back of the wubwoofer to a minimum but it is still too loud. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Your media player should have an equalizer where you can lower the bass.
