Need urgent help!!!

Well i rebuilt my old computer and put everything inside. Now i got ubuntu as the OS but it won't load. I've read that by noticing the amounts of beeps your motherboard does, you can find the solution. Aparently my motherboard does one small beep and thats it. Can't find any info in the mobo maual. Can anyone help? Please all comments or ideas are important.
 
Usually the small beep is the post beep. Are you getting any hard drive activity at all?
 
The post beep is when you turn on the computer and you hear one small beep. Meaning that the system passed its Power On Self Test(POST). If you aren't getting any video but are getting hdd activity then you have a video issue. Do you have a dedicated card or onboard video?
 
okay, i got my computter up and running. Can't install ubuntu yet since there are file on the hard drive. Any way i can delete everything on ubuntu and then install it?
 
Ubuntu should have a utility that will delete all existing partitions so you can repartition and install it.
