do this is a good laptop I would use it mainly for playing games thank you in advance.

that is by no means a good laptop. It has the build quality of a submarine sandwich under water.

Look for a Dell, Asus, MSI, Toshiba, Lenovo, Sager, or Cyberpower for a laptop for gaming. The GT540m isn't a good GPU either. It is bottlenecked by a 128 bit bus and DDR3 memory. It in Acer (also their designs in Gateway and Emachines) is guarenteed to overheat. On stock settings in an Acer 5742, it ran a constant 98* during gaming (DX8 at 1366*768 maxxed). For a compairison, the "hotter" NVS135 holds 72* on teh same game at 1440*900. You need a GTX560 to game on. Or a higher card. Then your not even going to max newer games.

Gateway has some of the poorest build quality, sad too cause I remember when gateway use to be a good company.
