Needed FIles on External HD?

I have a WD external hd that I would like to back up some data on. There are several folders of "stuff" that I was wondering if I could erase. These folders are autorun, documentation, WD sync data, WD_windows_tools and WD sync. Do I need any of this information?
 
If you are going to manually backup your stuff then no it's not needed. You should be able to get all that software back by finding your drive on the WD stie and looking through the downloads for it.
 
You mean the automatic sync tools and what not? I don't know exactly how they work but I'd imagine that once you have them set up they make it so that you don't need to remember to backup your data. It either schedules a backup or automatically backs up what ever data you've specified when it gets plugged in.
