just for that stuff the e4300 would be grreat, i dont have it but it is really fast and best preformance for the price as it is only $100

Personally I wouldn't buy from HP again... you get really crud products for good money... Anyways find out what you want then look it up on newegg and see if you can get it cheaper. Because I know I could have gotten my computer from HP way cheaper
 
Yeah it is possible to get a weak CPU now and get a better one later, but make sure if you have a more powerful CPU in mind already that you get the sockets that the more powerful PSU needs. But if you have the money now I would get the better CPU saves you a bit of money in the long run.

if i get the bigger cpu, the board will have space for the increased sdram?

newegg doesnt list this model. i was thinking of getting it all done and running. how much you think id save doing it myself? if i dont get a hp warranty, i guess id do it myself. thanks,
