Needed stuff for a DJ computer??

What would I need to build a micro ATX DJ computer? It needs to be under $600. It just needs to work with 2,000 songs, Audacity and some type of media player that will double run<two windows same program, to keep music constantly coming.:)

Thanks

he said under six hundred, not under six thousand. macs ARE like art: there expensive, look cool, and you can't do anything with it so it just sits on a table. Try piecing together a custom build. all you really need is a big hard drive......heck, why not just use a freakin' iPod!

well u would need a motherboard, cpu descent amount ram, and a large hard drive :), and u dont need to buy a mac to do this, get on newegg.com and check out some parts and piece it together, what type of dj'ing are u doin, will u be needing to get updated sound card, or is it pretty much for home, party type things..

Get one of those q-pack cases, a micro-atx motherboard with integrated graphics card, maybe one of those 6100's. An AMD 64 processor, 512 or a gig of ram, a huge harddrive, and a good x-fi sound card.

I will be hired to do this, I want something thats looks cool. diduknowthat must be psychic, I already looked at an X-Qpack and the Ultra Microfly cases. I was looking at this sound card. What ever happened to the Audigy series, I liked those?

Thanks, MAC SUCKS

I think the X-Fi cards suceeded them, although mine's perfectly good, despite being a 2002 card. Over here the X-Fi cards are about £50 for an average card.

hm why not s an i pod? lets see, does it have a very large screen or is as easily used as a lappy with itunes on it? nonot really, itunes has all the music layed out, on an ipods you have an itty bity screen, i would recomend mac in this case but i would reomend a small laptop. you can go to newegg, go to lap tops, hit price 500-750 ish and look there, there should be a decent one for there cheap price

oh and btw there isnt a mac for 6000 dollars. mac pro is 2499 stock thought you outta know

I do not like mac, mac eats RAM, it is still slow. Had it not been for the iPod or the iMac they would've have sold out. I have never had the need for one, I very seriously doubt this will call out as a need. The only thing they are good for is graphic design, nothing else.

for a program... i use Serato for my gigs, and at work, I use either Traktor, or Virtual DJ.

oh and Windows isn't crap for DJ Programs...

BUT I must say... your not a DJ if u use just a computer and fade some music... Get REAL vinyl turntables... and Serato, or mixvibes, if your tight on cash... You can get a whole setup, and the program for under $600 easy...
