First off im new, I don't know what a motherboard is but I do intend to find out more information about mobo. I know that everything is connected to the mobo and recently I thought about buying a graphics card. I knew it wasn't as easy as that so I joined two sites; this and TGL.

Being told that power supplies have limits, and usually it would be recommended to get an 800W psu. I was wondering if I had to open my case and look for the information just as I am going to do with my psu?

So is there probably some kind of information on the mobo that tells me which kind of psu inputs it takes?

For the most part, that is wrong. Unless you have REALLY RAELLY good components, like i7 in triple Xfire or something, I wouldn't go for a 800w power supply, and even then...

About your question, there are some power supply calculators floating around and you can use that as a guide and estimate.
