needs a new GPU

Friends MoBo model is a Asus P5VDC-MX. He wants to know what type of GPU he can have. he currently has an off brand 450watt PSU so a GPU can't be very power demanding. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

GPU means graphics processing unit, IE graphics card or video card. He very likely means a graphics card and not processor.

His board has an AGP slot, PCIe x1 is newer but not meant for GPUs.

There are several AGP cards available that range from 40-150 bucks..
