Nero 7

When I bought my computer, (the one in my signature) It came with nero 7 software on cd. But when I installed it it said that I needed to enter the registration number, or it would expire after 30 days.

My question is, was the software just a promotional thing so that after it ran out I would buy it? or should the cd have come with a serial.

Any thoughts would be appreciaed.

Nero that ships with systems tends to be demo only. Regardless, the apps you've listed are sort um... incomparable. If you want a good, free solution have a look at DeepBurner

Yeah i dont really burn stuff much. So i just use cd burner xp pro. I mainly wanted nero for dvd decoder and media player part of it.

Well the dvd decode is replaced by ffdshow now and media players are a dime a dozen

Yeah well im not really that interested in using it nero anymore. I just wanted to find out ewhy I had to register it. ad just out of interest, seeing as your an administrator, is there anyway i can close my own threads? or do they have to stay open i case other people have the same question and can use them?

You can request a thread closure (subject to whatever mod/admin feels like at the time) but generally, if the thread stays open, people who have similar problems or alternate solutions can contribute/learn/ask.
