Netbook got freezed

hi guys, sometimes my netbook acer aspire one gets freezing or I dont know how its called. during the windows is running sometimes it just stop and I can do nothing, touchpad, keyboard not working. no ctrl alt del. only shutdown button if you press for a long time.
I think its a problem with RAM.
any idea?

Forlan, please don't invade threads Tsa, Can you get into the BIOS? on most netbooks, when they boot up, you press DEL it should tell you stuff about your system there

There are dozens of possibilities as to why it is behaving this way.

Malware: What kind of malware protection do you use? When was the last time it was updated? When was the last scan?

Operating System updates: Are all of your Microsoft patches up to date? Are you using SP3 (assuming Windows XP)?

General housekeeping: Have you ever cleaned up the registry?

There are so many possibilities that are more likely than failing hardware that you could look into first.
