Netbook Making strange noises

hello everyone,
im haveing a strange "problem" if it can be called that,
my netbook is making a very strange noise whilst not even turned on, it is plugged in chargeing and it sounds like when its on and idle, (harddrive noise, not scrapeing, more like a tv with no aerial plugged in.) its not that loud but i was just a bit worried and its 2 weeks old and i have never noticed a netbook/laptop to make a noise whilst charging.
its a Asus Eee Pc 1005HA

any help is very much appreciated!
 
take it back to where you got it from and explain to them about it, they may test it there and change it for a differant one. ;)

thanks very much for the reply but unfortunately its from amazon (was £225 now £260) so i cannot take it back. my dads cousin owns a shop but he is away on holiday so i dont want to disturb his holiday. thanks anyway, in the mean time i will search for more results on the internet but most research so far has lead to nothing.

this is still an issue and has in fact got louder and worse. i am not sure what to do and will attempt to contact some support. thanks for the help, Ryan
 
The noise comes from the power adaptor or inside laptop? if inside laptop, it comes from power components which caused by over rate current due to some kind of short circuit. so the laptop motherboard will come completely dead if it keeps running
