Netbook or notebook?

I am going to be making a budget gaming system within the next month but I also want something that I can take with me. I've been looking around and I don't want something too big but I also don't want something small. I was looking at the netbooks but i'm worried that it will be underpowered when it comes to watching videos and doing multiple tasks at the same time. I've seen the newer dual core netbooks but they are priced around the same as an older laptop. What would be a better choice? Going with an older used dual core laptop from my local craigslist or maybe an open box from tigerdirect or newegg or dishing out the money for the netbook. I'm not so sure what I should begin to look so any help is appreciated.

I was looking at the new netbook by asus:

One more thing i forgot to add....i don't want to go over $500 but i'd really like something in the 300-400 range...If it can run WoW that would be a plus =]

For game, Notebook is better than netbook, but the best is desktop. you can upgrade a better graphic card on a desktop later on when you get more buget.

That one looks good. 4-threaded atom chip, and decent ion graphics, plus a full version of Win7.

though i have an Asus Eee Netbook which is nice, it is also very small. have to consider that. i just use mine for travel, credit cards etc. ya might want to find something with a bigger screen. also the keys are tighter.

i'm not going to use it as my main computer...i'm going to take it to school and since i have about 2 hours between classes to study and whatnot I could probably get in some WoW time or play other games that aren't too graphic intensive..I just don't want to lug around a really big or heavy notebook with me but if it would be better to get a smaller notebook around my budget by all means post some links =]

that will work. windows 7 would be nice. at least 2gig.
Its very small and portable. Asus has many choices. I think with a netbook you might have to consider a external cdrom though. I bought one from Newegg. Mostly i just network it in the house to get it on the computer.

All in my area for good prices..if you can find something else online or in store with the same or better specs for cheaper or same price please link it over =]

I myself would go with the original netbook posted. Dont, DONT get any of the laptops you posted with intel GMA, the netbook will perform better than these.

Should I wait until we get the same netbook but with usb 3.0 and bluetooth 3.0 or should I just buy it now? Is it really that important to have usb 3.0? I can add a usb bluetooth adapter for cheap so that's not really a factor.

Bringing up an old thread...(I know) but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion to see if the asus 1215n is still the best netbook. I know that asus has brought out other 1215 models but none with ion2...theres an AMD one now though with ati graphics and i'm wondering which one would be better?
