Hey guys,

Okay so the netbook in my sig...developed a fault and the battery would not hold its charge,i RMA the thing and they said it was found to be faulty and would replace it with a new one....But what do you know!It took ebuyer 3 weeks to get back to me and now the damn things Discontinued!

I now have to look for an alternative netbook.

What you think about this?

Any other recommendations?...dont forget im in the Uk :D

So, they're letting you choose any netbook as a replacement because they no longer have the other? You might as well just pick whatever has the highest resale value, sell it, and then figure out what you want.

I'd advoid Advent product although it is cheap...

Whats wrong with Advent?

If you can, look towards an asus or compaq notebook..both seem to have pretty good build quality.

I will tks,Im betting theyre alot more though and have smaller screens.

Nope,They have refunded my money....Im looking to buy from an alternative source and not ebuyer,Theyve messed me around too much on this one.

It is pcworld house brand. less famous. last time i try to search a driver for my friend, i can't find their offical website... also i heard some ppl saying their a less durable than other major brand, don't know if it is true.

Also, I suggest you go to the shop to have a look before you purchase

Ah okay thanks...i appreciate your help.

I was just actualy thinking of getting a standard 15" Laptop instead of a Netbook,While netbooks are good because they are small, they realy aint that smaller than a 15" laptop when theyre next to each other.

Plus i would like to have a DVD drive, the lack of one got annoying on the netbook sometimes

Know any good laptops in the £250 price range? I know its not much but i dont realy need anything powerfull.... i dont even need an OS + i have 1gb of laptop ram here waiting.

What about this?

I know its not exactly new tech anymore....but i dont need anything blazing fast.....just something that can handle the web...movies and maybe Age of empires 3/The sims.

But from what i can see....it has very poor graphics,i doubt the sims would even launch?

Most netbooks these days have dedicated 128 mb graphics chipset.

OR

Actually that emachines would be more powerful than netbooks, as most of them(except a few asus's) have an ancient intel gma950 in them.

My Lenevo had the intel gma950....this Asus has Intel 945..not sure if thats older or newer lol

It has the 945GM Chipset, which has gma 950 graphics;)

ohh man now im confused...:D

Im no good with all these intergrated chipsets and stuff....im still getting the feelin that the Atom will be better though and more effecient than that AMD?

The atom is a slower cpu than any of the amd processors, as its clock for clock about half the speed of a core 2 series cpu. But it really boils down to performance vs size...
