NETGEAR ProSafe FS105 10/100 Ethernet Switch

Hi Everyone,

At my work we have two netgear switchboards running. Every couple months the switchboard dies. *The power light is still on but all 4 of the cat5 connection lights are off* and the wires do not work.

I am not certain why these malfunction sometimes, we have a theory that the switchboard is not grounded and this may be why this is occurring. On the back of the router there is a metal attachment so you can ground your router into the bottom prong of an outlet(Router power is two prong) hmmm I wonder if anyone can follow this... thanks in advance if you can help

maybe one of the switches is bad pulling down the good one also. Do you have a lot of static build up ? if so the ground issue would really be possible? does it happen all year long?

thanks for the response. Im new at this company and my boss told me to research it, I have no idea if there is static buildup, we have multiple switches, all the same brand, they just start breaking... I just thought they are old and POS , but he seems to think I should ground it. I have no idea where I go to buy a grounding wire, or how the hell you do it, any ideas?
