Just want to know if its possible to network 3 PCs if you insert 2 lancards on the server PC and assign IP address on those lancards and then connect using UTP cable to 2 other PC with lancards each.

if this is test purposes only, no need for2 lan cards just connect the 1st ethernet of the server to the switch along with the others. this will be static IP
if this is no test purposes, you need to setup up dhcp on the server since eth0 wil be internet then eth1 is local it will assign IP's to eth1 so when connected to the switch the 2 other pc's picks up the broadcast and gets their IP.

in this setup you don't use any switch, just connect the two PCs on the two lancards inserted on the server, will this work?

oh ok,sorry, i misunderstood, yes it will work. Provided you assigned different IPs on the 2 lan Cards but on the same range.
i have never tried this though..lol
