Network Adapter Qs

1) If I am running on cable internet, I don't need to buy a network adapter right?

2) A network adapter is a USB thing you plug into the back of your PC and it connects to the router?

How are you planning on connecting to the internet, wired or wireless? Is this for a laptop or a desktop? The newer laptops already have wireless in them and if this is for a desktop, most if not all have new ones already come with an lan port. Please explain about more of what you are trying to accomplish.

I'm in the process of customising a PC and one of the options is "Do you want a Network Adapter" then about 5 network adapters to choose from.

I am moving into a new house but I don't know whether it's got wired or wireless just yet. And I was wondering if I brought it without a NA and I ended up having wireless, could I just simply plug a NA in?

Wireless will be slower, so I would have it hooked with an ethernet cable unless you will be far away from the router. If you want it to be wireless then all you have to do is put in a wireless adapter. Most likely the new place won't have either wired or wireless(unless the person that lived there before ran wires throught walls and floors), that totally depends on you and the modem/router you get.

Why shouldnt he get one? If its coming built in then do it. Honestly Ive gone through two of those stupid USB dongle adapters from them snapping off.....
