Network Analyzer not detecting hosts

I've been attempting to analyze the traffic in my wlan and for some reason none of my programs will register that there is another host besides the router when I know this to be true.

I originally thought it was just a problem with my version of Cain, but it is the same with wireshark, commview and ettercap.

I can't find anything about this problem on the internet, can anybody help me?
 
Your network card might not support what you are looking to do. Not many cards support traffic monitoring or can enable promiscuous mode.

Now, I think thats as far as I'm going to help because what you are trying to do has a huge potential for malicious intent. Ie, wireless hacking.

I've used all those programs and the only time I used them was when I was learning how to do Wireless penetration testing in my security class. Wireshark being the exception.
 
I'm studying for CCNA exams in preparation for a career in network security, yo es no blackhat.

I've used this wireless card before and its worked fine for monitoring traffic on Linux and windows. The problem is new. I'm stumped. Any other ideas?
