Network Down! Need help!

Hi. I consider myself to be quite the pro on networking and can generally solve all my problems myself. However, this time is an expetion. This morning i woke to find that my network and ADSL was offline (after a thunder storm). I resarted the router and the ADSl light came back on. However my network between my three home comps isnt working. Here is the situation:
- Comp One can access the net and says its network cable is plunged in. It cant access any other comp though.

-comp 2 claims its network cable not to be in. Which it is. The network cards light isnt on either. So it cant access the web or network

-The third is saying "limited or no network connectivity" and cant access the net or network.

-My router is saying that 1 and 3 are connected via its little lights.

All my IP's are acquired by themselves.

So it all worked fine yesterday...but now its all screwed up! What could be up? I changed nothing, and did nothing. However this moring i think 2 had turned itself on, as im pretty sure i turned it off last night and it was on this morning.

I dont think its the routers problem as i pluged them all into another hub and it still didnt work. Is it possible that somehow the huge thunderstorm last night did something somehow??

Any help on this issue would be VERY helpfull!

Thanks heaps!

It sounds like the Network card on Comp 2 has become unplugged on the inside (somehow). If not then the hardware itself might be bust.

Did you get a power surge in your house, was anything near you house damaged in the thunder storm i.e phone lines, etc.

Ok, on the pc that is saying "limited or no connectvity" try renewing the ip address on this.

Click, start, run, cmd, the do ipconfig /release (with space) then do ipconfig /flushdns and then do ipconfig /renew.

This should fix that pc.

However as DrCuddles stated, it appears that your network card is screwed on computer 2.

Hope this helps.

A better explanation of GarethCIA's post:

Step 1: Open Start, Click Run and type in CMD, press enter

Step 2: Type in
Code:
ipconfig /release
Step 3: After there has been alot of text and CMD auto scrolling down, you should be allowed to type in again, type in
Code:
ipconfig /renew
After about 20-30 seconds your Network Advisor Bubble should come up with the condition your netwrok is in again, it should at this point say 'Connected to... Network' If it still says 'Limited or no connectivity' you may need to consider it is a problem wtih your router.

Hope this helps :)

Or even simpler, you can right click connection you want to fix (in Network Connections) and choose Repair. :D

Thanks guys. But after all this I found out that I had gotten a phone line surge or something like that, and that 3 of my 4 ports on my router had gotten broken somehow. SO only comp1 was working as it was plugged into the working port. New router and its all fine again. Thanks for the suggestions any way :)
