Network Drive?

Hey guys I have a 250gig hdd on my laptop its an external drive and i want to set it up as a network drive so i can access it on my pc how would i do this? Both computers are in the same workgroup but for some strange reason i cannot see the laptop on my pc or on the other computer any suggestions?

Go to start, run, then type in the ip address of the laptop. Something like "//192.168.1.102" I find that works better than using names.

Also, be sure no firewalls are blocking file sharing or anything like that.

this is the error i get the laptop will not talk to the network even when the firewall is turned off... any suggestions???
