I installed a new hard drive, reinstalled Win XP Pro, and now can not access my network.
The wierd thing is that I can access the broadband internent so I know the cat 5 cable etc is working fine. I can not locate any machines drives etc.
I also notice that when I go to start there is no "My Network Places" where there used to be on right under "My Computer"

When I go under my network connectins I have 2
1) 1394 Connection (Connected, Firewalled)(1394 Net Adapter)
2) Local Area Connection (Connected Firewalled)(Intel(R) Pro/1000 networ...)

After using a flash disk and running network wizard several times still nothing in "My Network Places"

Would really appreciate any help.

It's not a driver issue, because he can see the NIC under the Network Connections page, and he can gain access to the internet.

You need to make sure that the workgroup you are on is the same as the other PC's on the network.

I had already changed the hard dirves to allow sharing, when I am in My Network Places nothing shows up, and when I click on view workgroup computers after several seconds this error comes up.

My workgroup is KYSERPHOTO

Change your workgroup to "WORKGROUP" and then retry and let me know what you get.

Thanks for helping out, I changed two computers to "WORKGROUP" and get teh exact same result.

If I werent able to connect to the internet would think its the adapter, but wouldnt allow me to connect to internet if that were the case.

Unplug your router, wait a couple of seconds and plug it back in. I would hold the reset button (little tiny button on back) for 30 seconds before cycling though.
