Network problem!

GOOD DAY
MY FRIEND'S GOT A SECOND HAND COMPUTER, HE BOUGHT IT YESTERDAY. THE PROBLEM IS: INTERNET DOESN'T WORK.

It doesn't work even though the drivers are installed. When we look up the LAN connection propreties, we can see that the computer is only sending and not recieving. The OS is Windows 7 64-bit, motherboard Asus M2n4 SLI which needs the nForce 4 chipset (which is already installed as seen in device manager).
Now there's another connection which comes from a PCI card, a 3com etherlink 10/100, but I don't seem to get the drivers for a 64 bit machine:mad:...
 
Well, allow me to ask the obvious - have you tried another computer on the connection? It's possible that there's no connection to be "got" ???
Describe your setup (modem/router/etc) and we'll go from there. I would think that Windows 7 would recognize both the on-board and the PCI NICs automatically.
