network scenario

ok here's the scene

This is the network. (both are running inside my physical one)
My problem here is that the server is a domain controller (or so I think it is, i used THIS guide)
cannot be contacted by either VMware_XP or MY PHYSICAL MACHINE.
However, both can ping the server, server share files and I can see them and vice versa, but when I try to connect VMware_XP to join domain, I can't. I get the "A domain controller for the domain "mydomainname" could not be contacted"... blah blah blah
I know i did something wrong on the server end but i just don't know what it is!!!

can someone help on this

Did you have DNS installed on the server?

don't bridge your network controllers to the actual ones in the OS, create new virtual network connections.

I did but i think it's where i messed up.I will have a look tonight and verify the settings are let you know

It's not bridge. I'm using Network Address Translation via VMware, the server is set on statisc IP and netwkring and internet works
