Network Trouble...PLEASE HELP!!

I recently built a new computer and I bought Call of Duty 4 for it. I immediately started playing online and it ran amazingly. Little or no lag ever, it was great. A couple days ago, my mom unplugged our router and modem to do some cleaning, and when she plugged it back in, I logged into CoD4 online and TRIED to play. Playing online was like a slide show. I already tried resetting modem and router and such, does anyone have ANY ideas on how I can maybe fix my connection? We have highspeed, and I've never had a problem with lag before. Any suggestions would be great!!
 
Make sure none of the ports on the router / modem are loose, make sure the phone line etc is plugged in at the wall and make sure everything that is connected when it was working make sure they are all connected.
