Hey Guys,

Now i have a Toshiba Laptop running Windows XP and it has a network card. I also have a Desktop running Windows XP, that also has a network card.

I also have a network cross-over cable....(i think thats what it is called)

But for some reason the two computers cant reconginse each other. Although my desktop relises when i plug in the cable and when i pull it out, as it displays messages.

Any help on how to get them to work together.

Also another problem i have is:

like i said i have a Desktop PC running Windows XP. It is upstairs in my bedroom. I also have a Laptop running Windows XP ( i want to beable to go online anywhere in the house with out wires)

My nearest phone point is downstairs in my hall. I want to be able to acess both computers with out the need for wires??

Is this posible??

I have dial-up.......it think i cant but i want to know for certain!! Thanks :)
