okay, so heres how it goes.
we've got the family computer which is hooked up directly to the wireless router with a straight through ethernet cable which is working dandy as it should.
i also have a desktop computer in my room which is wireless, (i know. whats the point??) and a laptop. i am trying to run my laptop off my desktop using a crossover ethernet cable. i bridged my wireless and ethernet so they can communicate, and everything is working fine except a message that is coming up saying "there is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." i checked all my systems and none of them share the same IP address. my family computer is 192.168.0.111, my desktop computer is 192.168.0.188, and my laptop is 192.168.0.189. i know what you're going to say, buy a wireless card for your laptop!! its just a temporary fix until i go buy one. and also its not anyone using my wireless (neighbours for example) because my wireless is secured.
can anybody assist?
cheers, phil!
