Networking with Linux and Windows

Hi all,

I'm just wondering can you set up a home network with a computer thats running Linux and a computer thats running windows XP. If anyone can help me with this it would be great.

you'll need to use samba to share files/printers

I know that ubuntu, and slax both come with samba. What distro are you going to use or are using?
