i have a ?, is there ne way i can set my pc up so that my friend can access some of my files from his house, like use the internet basically, we want to beable to share files

Enable FTP access on your machine would be the easiest, but least secure.

You would need a static IP address, or use DYNDNS service such as www.dyndns.org

A better way is to setup a VPN connection between the two locations using VPN compliant routers. This will effectively join your LAN network to the remote LAN network and enable file sharing as if the computers are on the same LAN. A Draytek Vigor 2800 is great for this - very stable.

Why don't you just use Limewire and get his IP address, tell him to put those files in the Shared folder, Viola.
