Nvidia 7900GT KO edition. LG 22" wide LCD.

Went from a 19" Dell CRT to this 22" wide LCD. Resolution went from 1200 to 1680. Well every since i hooked it up ive had some problems.

1st. The screen will just randomly go into powersave mode. When this happens i have totally unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in with no change, which makes me think its my vid card.

2nd. Every since the new monitor i have had firefox crashing ALOT. There are a few specific forums that i frequent and 9/10 times i go to them, firefox just crashes and it will do it repeatedly if i go back to the site. They work perfectly fine in IE. I have completely uninstalled firefox, restarted, reinstalled teh updated version, restarted, and nothing changed.

I installed the software for the monitor per the instructions. I have updated my video card drivers, updated the monitor drivers (already up to date) but still wont fix the problem.

I do have it hooked up VGA temperarily but i dont think that woudl make a differnce.

What am i doing wrong here?
Do i need to change a setting in the bios or something? I emailed LG a few days ago but im tired of waiting and i figure you guys would probably help more anyway.

anybody? This is really driving me crazy and i cant seem to figure out what the deal is.

please please please help

Monitor drivers? Get those off of there, who needs them? They are probably conflicting with your video drivers in some way... I don't see how a new monitor would cause FF to crash often...

well i called them monitor drivers. Its a program called fortemanager. USed to change resolutions and all that type of stuff. I do have all those same options in my nvideo toolbar so ill unistall the fortecrap and see if that helps.

thanks for the tip....

firefox seems to be working now... I unistalled it again, completely off the system, the reinstalled the updated version. Hasnt crashed yet, but ive already done this once, thought it was fixed but still crashed.

I also turned down the slight overclock i had on the GPU. stock speed is 450mhz bus, i had it at i think 462. I put it back to 450. I also slightly upped the voltage to the gpu by one notch. Although im not sure if any of that is the problem i figured i would give it a try.
