It's a 65 Watt - compared to the older 95W triple core.
I know the PC building book I read said to go for the lower wattage CPU - < all other things being equal >. How does a consumer judge the difference between a similar spec 65W vs 95W cpu?
45nm runs cooler and faster and has the added benefit of L3 cache. The decider of this would be how much cash you have to spend for a AM3 board + the 45nm chip. The AM2+ 95w would be cheaper since it would use a older board.
Thanks for posting this information. It is pretty amazing that the Phenom II 705e Tri-Core Processor consumes about half the power of the Phenom II 955 Quad-Core processor.
