Well things have went from bad to worse. I purchased a Radeon x700 pro 256Mb and swapped out the Aopen 6600GT card. All the games performed well but I couldn't get several items to function. After installing the the ATI video drivers I reinstalled the Asus mother board drivers trying to get the IEEE1394 ports to work and the ethernet connection to work.
After rebooting a couple times the computer wouldn't even boot up. Wouldn't even get to the bios execution menu. So, I put the 6600GT back in and unplugged any unessary items (DVD-ROM, Floppy, 2nd case fan) in the event that I was taxing the PSU. Same thing continued
Now I am out of ideas besides a Dell or HP of course.............
