New and Improved Onboard Graphics

I have a problem. I just bought a new computer which is PCIe so i cant use my old AGP graphics card. The new computer came with the Radeon Xpress 200 onboard graphics set. Its actually pretty nice but when i go into BIOS to UP the memory usage from 64MB to 256MB the BIOS is locked on the option. I was wondering if there was an easy solution to this problem...? Can it be unlocked?

Are you sure it supports 256MB? Depending on your specific version, it may only support a maximum of 64MB shared video memory.

yeah- its the new xpress 200 series, it says everywhere that it goes up to 256.

hehe, I think my Compaq has the Xpress 200 series in it. It's disabled now because of my 6200, but I could always kick it back to life ;P It'd be interesting to see how it works.

I beleive those(at least mine) has like 16M dedicated, then the rest shared.
