i received my asus p7p55d-e mobo today.
its my 1st mobo but something i found strange is the box wasnt sealed in any way,
the mobo was in an anti static bag although this wasnt sealed either.
everything looks new.manuals etc..
is this unusual?

When I got my EVGA board it was in a sealed box with an anti static bag that had a sticker holding it shut.

This sounds about right for an ASUS mobo. A lot of times they don't seal the box or tabe the anti-static bag shut. I know my ASUS mobo was the same, and most of the lower and middle end boards I have use are the same.

Some companies test the product before you buy it so that they won't lower their reputation by sending you not working mobo.

I'm quite sure I've gotten boxes without seals but never a mobo. As long as there wasn't a broken seal or obvious remnants of a seal I wouldn't worry too much. Just inspect the board carefully. An easy way to tell if it's been used is around where you screw it to the case. If that metal is scratched up, it's been used before. If that looks clean and the board appears to be free of damages, it's probably nothing tow orry about.

Same here

My Asus mobo box wasnt sealed and neither was the antistatic bag

Then again it was packaged inside another box aswell

When i received mine it was sealed too. Check if everything is in order and you can always send them email from where you bought it to ask them about that.

yeah just inspected the board and it looks new,
no marks on it so nothin to worry about:good:

Well, if everything looks new i dont think you will have problems with it. But you have always the option to ask the people where you bought the board from if you can return it. But if you return it you will probably pay for shipping charges.

I just bought 2 brand new ASUS mobo in the last 2 weeks. Neither bags were sealed inside the box. It was not a return and works great. Don't worry
