New build- am i going to blow my house up?

Here's a link to everything I'm going to buy for my new build for video editing, jw if anything is not compatible/ should I change any of it :eek: this was the best stuff I could find within a decent price range, I'm a novice so having some advice before I buy a complete new build would be assuring

Also, a 1tb harddrive, my old optical drive from my inspiron 546, and I have a 430w power supply but I'm planning on buying a 600w for insurance. Help is appreciated :P that's everything im buying/using for the build maybe I'm missing something?
 
The memory you picked is for a laptop, not a desktop. I would get at least 1600mhz memory.

That motherboard won't support the ram, the CPU could be better utilized with a AM3+ mobo, and the GPU isn't the best for the price.

I set up a little list using pcpartpicker.com. It's a common site we use around here to make things easier, and to make sure they're compatible! :)

The GPU is around the same price (after rebate) as the GT 730 you chose. If the rebate ends I suggest going with a GTX series card that fits your budget (750 maybe?).

You're going to need a new PSU and if I can recommend a brand, I'd say Corsair. The CX600M is nice to work with :)

Hope you enjoy your build, and don't forget to make sure that your case will fit the new motherboard ;)

You can't overclock the 8320E and it's underclocked from the regular 8320. Yes it uses less power (5 watts) but it doesn't add up for the loss in performance. The original mobo does run higher then 1333MHz RAM but only in OC. Might as well have it off the start and on a newer AM3+ board. :P

Headsortails, looks like 2 of us agree on the GTX 750ti as your graphics card. Your original choice of processor is fine. and Cisco is right:

8320e is black edition. Why can't u oc?
 
Yes you can overclock a 8320E. Overclocks just as well as the 8320. They just lowered the stock clock to hit the 95W rating.

I would just get.
FX 8320
Gigabyte GA 970A UD3P, the best 970 board made.
The CPU and Board does really well with DDR3 2133.

What an amazing site and thanks for the new list- that is what I'm going to roll with. My last question: is adding another 4gb of ram going to do me well or is just a minor improvement I shouldn't worry about? I simply want to edit video without a problem
 
At these speeds you shouldn't have an issue but you can always order another set of this RAM (make sure it's the same) and you'll have 16GB total.

Always best to run your full setup though these forums again. You never know what little kinks are still left.
