1090T is just as good as the 1100T. saves money.

Get a AM3+ 900 series chipset motherboard to keep your upgrade path open.

A SSD will perform better than the Raptor there.
Edit : duh! you do have a SSD there. get a 7200 RPM storage drive. the difference in latencies is minimal compared to the price.

Wolfe,

I wanted to have the SSD for the OS and the Raptor for my normal HD. I seen the AM3+ also and I wasn't sure about it since its my first amd build but if this bulldozer will run on the am3+ socket than I will make the change!

Can you wait a couple months for new AM3+ Bulldozer cpu release?

Benny,

I honestly didn't even know about the bulldozer release. I have seen that it will be released in September, if that is the case that I am def. interested, and I will upgrade asap. However I am one of those people with no discipline, I have to have it right now one of guys lol.

again, as they said, those velociraptors aren't worth it, just get a regular 7200rpm caviar blue or barracuda or f3 or other, they're alot cheaper and the speed diff isn't much, certainly not enough for the price diff., also 8 gb's of ram is more than enough, and you'll be better off with them cuz it will be in dual channel which is faster, and you can get a faster speed and lower cas latency too, and really an intell i5 2500k will be considerably faster, and they have a new version coming out in january that will take the 1155 socket too so you can get more speed, if you look at benches, the i5 kills the 1100t in everything but encoding and decoding and that's only thanks to the 2 extra cores the 1100 has, in every other thing the i5 is way faster.
